The general public were not quite ready for the controversial Nudity scenes on both the front and reverse of the sleeve - in fact the sleeve would probably raise quite a few eyebrows even now, some 40 years on! The album never made the charts in the UK, with only 5,000 copies were ever pressed, now making it one of the most SOUGHT AFTER Lennon albums in the World today. The Vinyl LP is on the Dark Green Apple Label, with Track Record logo, 'Sold in UK….' and 'Manufactured in the UK' label text. The side 1 matrix is SAPCOR 2A-1/Side 2: SAPCOR 2B-1. The side 1 stampers are: '1', & 'G'/Side 2: '1', & 'G'. The Vinyl LP comes in its Original Black Die Cut Inner Bag and is housed in its Original, FULL Laminated Sleeve, featuring John and Yoko baring all on both sides! The reverse of the Stereo sleeve correctly displays the 'Apple Records May 1968, and Made in Merrie England'…printed text. Both sides of the UNWORN record labels are in mint condition. Both sides of the vinyl disc are in near mint condition, As New gloss, all but a few barely visible, surface hairlines. The All Important Two Virgins sleeve is PRISTINE and perfectly WHITE all round, with both sides in REMARKABLE near mint condition. The sleeve is FLAT and all the edges and corners are UNDAMAGED - NO bruising or bumps to any of the corners, and only a hint of record indentation to both sides. The Unworded Spine is also in PERFECT, UNDAMAGED condition. The front panel of the sleeve is really FIRM and FLAT showing just the usual laminate lifting to the left hand edge. The reverse of the sleeve is in the same FINE condition, FIRM and FLAT with again no more than just a little laminate lifting to the right hand edge. Please note that the laminate lifting is all too common with this album - in fact we have never seen one that does not suffer from this - due to the laminate being affixed too tightly around the sleeve during the manufacturing process. Its Original black inner bag is also in GREAT SHAPE, with NO splitting or tearing around the die cut circle, and just a little inevitable creasing. INVESTMENT Quality, this example would NEVER NEED UPGRADING. One of the RAREST and most DESIRABLE UK Lennon albums to have been released!

This HISTORIC Beatles album is on the Distinctive BLACK AND GOLD PARLOPHONE LABEL, and is the harder to find NORTHERN SONGS variant. This Super Rare album comes in its correct and original poly lined use Emitex inner bag, and is protected in its Original Laminated ERNEST J DAY Flip Back Sleeve, with 'stereo' printed in large lettering to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve. The Official Matrix and stamper information is as follows: Side 1 matrix: YEX 94-1/Side 2: YEX 95-1. Side 1 stampers: '1','G'/Side 2 stampers: '1','R'. Both sides of the record labels are in EXCEPTIONAL excellent plus condition. Just look at the scans provided, both labels are UNWORN, with NO fading or wear to the beautiful rich gold leaf lettering. Both sides of the Vinyl disc too are in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition. It is difficult to fault this STUNNING vinyl. At most there are just a couple of faint surface hairlines to side 2, which would have been caused by inserting the record in and out of its inner sleeve. The Vinyl is GLEAMING, and it is obvious that it has barely been played. There are NO Scuffs and NO Scratches. The playing quality rivals that of the visual grading....I have carefully played the album throughout - it plays SUPERBLY, through each and every track, and the album retains that enviable early STEREO sound - just Fantastic. The Ernest J Day Laminated sleeve is certainly one of the better examples that we have seen for a long time. The sleeve is SOLID and FIRM and in STRONG excellent condition. The front panel of the sleeve retains its bright and vivid colours, and the laminate is very glossy. The two bottom corners have mild corner bruising and there is small ¼" split to the bottom right hand corner. The reverse of the sleeve is remarkably CLEAN and WHITE, with no tearing or handwriting, The bottom flip back is slightly creased, on the right hand side, next to the catalogue number. The spine and edges of the sleeve are UNDAMAGED and the title 'Please Please Me The Beatles' is clearly printed. One of the most sought after Beatles albums in existence in the World today, it will be a long while before we see another Northern Songs version, let alone in this SUPER condition. Any collector wishing to invest in just one Beatles rarity, could not go wrong with this choice!!
